Solar batteries are also known as a solar power battery or solar battery storage system. The main work of these batteries is to store energy generated from the solar panels for later use. These solar batteries are designed to connect with solar inverter for power backup.

All types of solar systems generate electricity with the help of Solar PV panels during sunlight and run the connected loads and export the extra electricity to solar batteries storage with an off-grid solar system and hybrid solar system. LiFePO4 batteries are completely safe, unburnable, stable for 16 to 20 years, hassle-free and maintenance-free. It performs well with low resistance and electrical performance also a very good level.

A lithium-ion solar battery is generally used in E-rickshaw, solar Street lights, solar vehicles, and battery banks.  The main advantage of LiFePO4 battery is the good thermal stability, Improved safety, in addition to the high current rating and long life cycle.

Nowadays solar batteries for home with solar panels are increasingly focused on LiFePO4 batteries, which are helpful in cost reduction in recent years.

 Generally, solar batteries price starts from 20 AH @ Rs.2600 to 200 AH @ Rs. 12,000. The price of solar batteries also depends on its brand and quality. Batteries Companies gives 3 to 5 years of warranty and some brands will replace it with a new battery during the warranty period. Some brands promote buyback offers where the new one is replaced by the old ones.

  • It’s better to install the solar battery and inverter of the same brand.
  • Tall tubular solar batteries are cost-effective. Whereas Lithium-ion is far better but expensive.
  • Go for 150 AH rating battery with at least 5 years warranty.

One more important component of a solar battery system is the solar inverter or solar charge controller. It is helpful to ensure that the energy produced during the day does not overload the battery.
